The owners of this ten bedroom home in Vancouver’s historical Shaughnessy neighborhood engaged Kelly Deck Design to undertake the design of a light renovation and full furnishing with decor. They wanted the stature and dignity restored as years of poor renovations had made the 14,000 square foot house feel fragmented and jarring.
The goal was a stately interior with a lighthearted atmosphere that nods to the exceptional garden that the home sits within.
The firm set on a journey of transforming the dark traditional interior into a bright and inviting space. Oval motifs were employed in the finishing carpentry and millwork throughout, reinvigorating the home’s narrative and cohesiveness.
A careful complement of classic furnishings and contemporary art were carefully curated to bring a finalizing lift to the home.
